Kissimmee Elementary School Program

The academic program in our private elementary school in Kissimmee runs from Kindergarten to 5th grade levels.

KINDERGARTEN

A typical day in Kindergarten begins with worship and prayer too!

FCA’s Kindergarten curriculum is Bible based “BJU Press”.  With this curriculum we help your family add to the faith based learning foundation that is centered on the scripture values and the truth of God’s Word.

In Freedomland Christian Elementary School in Kissimmee, Kindergarten children will mainly be prepared to read, by becoming acquainted with books, listening to comprehend, recognize the sounds and pronunciation of the alphabet.  In math, they will work with numeration, counting, addition and subtraction.  They will also gain awareness of God’s creation as part of the Science classalso have art and music courses taught once a week, in addition to chapel service once a week.

FIRST GRADE

In First grade, children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning.  This is a year of significant transitions, as well as one in which new skills are acquired. During first grade, your child will learn how to read, write stories, add, subtract, and more.  Children also have elective courses like art, music, and karate.

It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes.  Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready.  Maintaining each child’s self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in our private elementary school in Kissimmee.

SECOND GRADE

FCA’s Second grade curriculum is Bible based “BJU Press”.  With this curriculum we help your family add to the faith based learning foundation that is centered on the scripture values and the truth of God’s Word.

In 2nd grade, our students continue the narrative of American History with Heritage Studies 2, improve reading skills with two new reading books, and use math manipulative tools to expand their understanding of number relationships.  Science lessons, foundational English grammar, spelling lists, and handwriting introduce our students to a new world full of wonders to discover.  The best thing of all is that Biblical principles are woven throughout each subject.

THIRD GRADE

Our Kissimmee Elementary School Program, from 3rd grade up to 12th grade, the curriculum used is Ignitia, a faith based online curriculum.  The system promotes the use of 21st century technology, while integrating interactive and multi – dimensional media core and elective courses, such as Bible, History, Language Arts, Math, and Science.  While the system allows for each student to read or listen to each lesson, there is also traditional teaching and discussion of the lessons by the classroom teacher, to help the students understand the lessons better.  Once the lesson is discussed and presented, the students access the system to further benefit from the lesson videos, examples, etc. , and to answer the lesson questions.  Quizzes and tests are also typically answered in the system.

FOURTH GRADE and FIFTH GRADE

Fourth grade and Fifth grade have a similar teaching/learning structure as third grade, where the teacher discusses the lessons in the traditional style, and the students answer the lesson questions, quizzes and tests in the Ignitia system.
